Transgender Day of Remembrance 2010

The annual Transgender Day of Remembrance is coming up, in which people murdered because of their gender identity are remembered. An article in the Missoulian features an interview with Erin Armstrong.

Misconceptions, answers about transgendered people: "Erin Armstrong, a transgender activist featured in Rolling Stone for her work, heads to Missoula this week to speak at the event. Armstrong has documented her transition with video blogs on YouTube, and she works in San Francisco’s Trans: Thrive office, a drop-in center for transgender folks.

Last week, she talked with the Missoulian about being trans, the Missoula Transgender Day of Recognition – the local answer to the national Day of Remembrance – as well as about political successes and roadblocks for the trans community."
