Transgender woman asked to leave bar blasts Tempe ruling on discrimination complaint
Arizona Justice: Trans Woman = Prostitute?
The Bar swears she was evicted because she was mistaken for another person, a prostitute, not because she's trans. (See page 8, par. 6).
The City Diversity Office rules she was evicted because she was a customer of the nearby adult bookstore within the past year, not because she's trans.
The complainant is appealing.

Planet Fitness is asking for the dismissal of a lawsuit involving the company's transgender-friendly locker room policy, calling the suit "woefully deficient" and claiming it promotes discrimination against transgender people. Motions filed on July 31 in Midland County Circuit Courtney Pollack by lawyers for the corporate gym chain and an individual Midland Planet Fitness franchise claim a lawsuit filed by a Sanford woman is not legally sufficient to continue. Yvette Cormier, 48, filed the lawsuit against both the chain and the local franchise in March after Planet Fitness canceled her membership. The cancellation came after Cormier saw a transgender woman in the Midland gym's locker room and refused to stop "warning" other gym members about the locker room policy. Cormier's lawsuit claims invasion of privacy, multiple violations of the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, breach of contract, intentional infliction of emotional distress, exemplary damages and a violation of the Michigan Consumer Protection Act. We Mourn Kandis Capri, Elisha Walker &15 Other Trans People Lost To Transmisogynistic Violence
It's too glib to attribute these losses to individual bad actors. Understand that the system of marginalization that drives our society makes this accumulation of violence inevitable.

Bedford Weaving Sued for Genetic Information and Disability Discrimination
From Commissioner Chai Feldblum: "EEOC sues Bedford Weaving for genetic information and disability discrimination. The most basic thing an employer can learn at an ADA seminar: do NOT ask medical questions on your applications. Not rocket science."
