Karen Grayson says all that happened to her after people discovered the person they always knew as a man was part of the transgender community and sometimes dressed as a woman.
Now Grayson, who is transitioning from a man into a woman, is hoping a new state law banning job discrimination against transgender individuals will prevent others from suffering a similar fate."

Transgender Job Discrimination Bill Clears Senate | WRBL: "en. Sheila Leslie, D-Reno, says Nevada joins 13 other states to include transgender discrimination in employment protections. State law already bars discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation and other attributes."
It's appropriate to note that there are about a dozen other states, in addition to the 13, that have court rulings, executive orders or administrative regulations that provide employment protections for trans employees.

Nevada Assembly passes transgender discrimination bill
Assembly passes transgender discrimination bill - News - ReviewJournal.com: "Members voted 29-13 for Assembly Bill 211, which would prevent discriminating against people based on their gender identity or expression."
It's clear that trans protections aren't only a coastal phenomenon, and the fact that three Republicans voted for the bill is a sign that it's not a partisan issue.
