More on ENDA

ENDA is now known as H.R.2015. The text is not yet out, but here’s where to find it when it is out. There are 67 cosponsors.

The bill has been referred to various House committees: Education and Labor, House Administration, Oversight and Government Reform, and Judiciary, for consideration of provisions that fall within the jurisdiction of each. I imagine they will issue reports in a couple of months.

HRC’s press release contains interesting statements from the 4 co-sponsors. And here’s the photos from the signing.

Reverend Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values coalition said in a newspaper interview that the bill is not needed because there is no discrimination. The National Employment Lawyers Association, however, in their press release, cite some interesting examples of discrimination. Lambda Legal has referenced 1000 calls received regarding discrimination in 2006.
