Opinion | For Gays, the Worst Is Yet to Come. Again.

Larry Kramer op-ed in The NY Times: For Gays, The Worst Is Yet To Come: “I have never been able to answer one question: Why have relatively few of us — out of so many millions — been willing to fight for their lives? I still can’t answer it and I continue to be very sad because of it. And the biggest fight for our lives is ahead of us.” Why Larry? For all the reasons humans let the strong take advantage of the weak throughout human history. Because we have learned well to be afraid. Because we are despairing of our ability to make a difference. Because we are insulated by wealth. Because we have to fight with everything we have to keep body and soul together. Because facing hate all day every day is soul killing. Because we tear down our leaders. Because we too are sad. Because we are waiting for someone to save us. These are the right questions. Where are the right answers? I pray that we will come together and make our stand before it is too late. In the meantime, I will fight like hell with what little I’ve got. https://ift.tt/2Lbw8NK
